Zoe's Birthday

Birthday parties are  A LOT of work.  The party was at 7:00 and I was at my inlaw's house a little after 10:00 and literally worked the whole day up until people started showing up.  I was exhausted!  I'm so thankful for my sister-in-law helping me out with decorating the cake.  I would not have been able to do it without her.  Seriously.  I'm so thankful she was willing.

Elmo without his fur

At one point in time I wondered if I was completely crazy for throwing a party.. maybe I was, but it was SO worth it!

This was one of our games that we played. It was a lot of fun hearing everyone's guesses.  If you're interested, there were 440.

My husband is AMAZING! He drew this for me while at work.  This is not a stencil! He did it completely on his own.  I am still so amazed!

Happy Birthday banner.

Zoe and Emilie (not sure why she isn't smiling..).

A little friend of Zoe's!

Zoe insisted on Bubba playing too!

My word.. Zoe is getting so big.  I cannot believe she is 2 already!

This was the day after the party.  Bubba is slowly figuring out how to climb stairs! Yikes!

Like I said, the party organizing was a lot of work, but Zoe's reaction to every decoration, cupcake, present, etc. was worth it to me!  I absolutely love my children and I love being able to do special things for them.

Next month I will be planning ANOTHER Birthday -- Maximus will be turning 1.  Can you believe it?!

  1. Oh, my goodness! You should have started out with a much simpler party, silly girl. You're going to wear yourself out, then when the kids are old enough to really know and remember everything that's goin on, you'll be all burned out! HAHAHA! But they probably only like Elmo for a limited time and he makes for a great cake! You guys did a fantastic job. The cupcakes are so great! Really, everything is amazing! What fun for everyone.

  2. BTW, I really like your picture with the "I-don't-know-if-I-can-do this!-What-was-I-thinking?!?!?!?" expression. :-)

    1. I knew this was my only shot at giving Zoe an Elmo party (who knows what she'll be into next year?) so it was a go-big-or-go-home kind of deal! Haha! Also, the picture of myself was very much legit. I wondered if I bit off more than I could chew! Haha!

  7. Looks like it Zoe’s birthday party was very enjoyable. You did great with all the lovely decorations and the Elmo cake was also amazing. I’m also planning a party for my daughter’s birthday next week. We have just moved into our new house and I don’t want to mess it up with a house party so I’m hoping to rent a suitable party venue.
