My blessings.

Every morning I wake up and look forward to hearing my name.

Zoe: "Mom! Dad? Out!"

I hear Max over the baby monitor talking to a stuffed animal, his blanket, or just talking to the ceiling.

Every morning I wake up and look forward to being a mom.

I can't help but notice that this generation of mothers are not the same as my mom.

Mom had six kids and we went everywhere with her.  If grocery shopping needed to be done, all six of us kids tagged along.  If Mom had to run by the bank or drop something off for Dad, all six of us were there in the back seat.

I have some great memories of my Mom.  She was the best -- and I'm not just saying that, I mean it whole heartedly.

Other moms have harder time relating to me because I'm a lot like my Mom was -- my kids come with me everywhere I go.  Yes it may be a little hectic, but that's what I signed up for when I decided to take this position, and God has given me the patience and thankfulness for my slower walkers!

I hope one day my kids will have great memories with me like I did with my Mom.  I do my best everyday!

SIDE NOTE:
I do not want any mothers to feel offended by my remarks.  I am not being judgemental towards anyone and how they raise their children.  I'm just stating who I am and how I feel about myself!  Thanks!

  1. This post made my eyes well up with tears. I love the wonderful memories you have as a child with your mom who is an Amazing Wonder Woman. I also LOVE the fact that you are patient and walk at your children's pace. It warms my heart to see or hear of a mommy and daddy who are so caring and in love with their children that even the "small things" matter. Gracie, you are a wonderful mommy, you are doing a great job. I regret not living around you to see all the terrific things you do for your babies, what I would give to see all of the memories you and Paul are making. Keep up the great work!
    Love,

  2. I am with you Grace. My kids go with me EVERYWHERE. People don't understand. I love having my kids around and I love being with them ALL day. So much happens in a day with your children and I don't want to miss it!

  3. Great post, Gracie, and ADORABLE pictures! Your kids are SOOOO CUTE! Not that it surprises me in the least. ;-) You mom was, and is, a great mom. And it's surprising, because she never really liked kids much before she had her own and she didn't even start having kids right away after marriage. She got a slower start than her older sisters, but she more than made up for it. :-) I'm very proud of her, and of you!
