Anxiety

Here lately I have been struggling with anxiety attacks.
I've struggled with them probably my whole life,
and I don't know where they come from.

I have a hard time breathing.
My left side and chest go numb and tingly.
I feel anxious and don't know why.

All of my life I have struggled with certain "phobias."
One of them being I have to pysche myself out just to answer the phone,
even if it's someone I love.
I have to REALLY pysche myself out if I have to call anyone,
especially strangers.

I'm so thankful my husband and family try and help me whenever I feel this way.
They shower me with encouraging words and scriptures to calm my jittery nerves.
I've also been watching and listening to light-hearted movies and music.

What are you thankful for that your family does for you?

  1. is that way you prefer us texting instead of calling? i'll try to keep that in mind, cause i just couldn't go without talking to my gracie girl!

micah is super supportive of my dreams, he recognizes potential that i didn't even know was there and wants the absolute best for me, even to the point of sacrificing what he wants in order to make me happy. that... is true love.

  3. I think some of it may be genetic! Many in the family prone to anxiety. (Some may say we are wound a little tighter than most.) Also, really do not care to talk on the phone either. I do everything I can to avoid it if possible. I prefer written communication. Glad you have a good support system. It makes a big difference.

Over time, the more often you can muster up the courage and strength to "tough it out" the less potent the anxiety will become. Truly, the prescribed method of overcoming phobias is exposure therapy. It's a bummer, right?

    Love you,
    Aunt Carmela
