100 Toddler Challenge: Hide-N-Seek

Hide-N-Seek

The night before I left for Ladies Retreat Zoe and I played Hide-N-Seek.  It was so much fun playing with her!  Paul had to help her with hiding places since she went to the same place every.single.time and this hiding spot made us both laugh so hard.  I love playing this game with her!  Max hasn't quite figured out what we're doing, but that doesn't stop him from laughing and having a good time anyways!

Hide-N-Seek is the perfect game to play when you're stuck indoors --- like today.  It is too cold and snowy to play outside so I know after nap time we will play more Hide-N-Seek and most likely play peek-a-boo with Titus since that is our next game to check off of our list!  So much fun!

Oh, and as for Ladies Retreat...I'll post about it later!

Challenge #2: Blow Bubbles

Challenge #2: Blowing Bubbles

When Zoe found out we were going to be blowing bubbles yesterday she was so excited!  She jumped up and down clapping her hands and even sang a song about it!  Haha!  I wish I would have been able to record her singing because now I don't remember how it goes.  She always making up songs expressing herself, though.

We got her princess wand and headed to the backyard to play with our bubbles and Hurley.  Hurley loves playing outside with the kids, and surprisingly enough, they loved playing with him too!  I think they're finally getting over his size and realizing he just loves to play.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get much more than these three pictures.  I had planned on taking video too, but I was holding Titus the whole time because I couldn't find any strollers, baby packs, etc to put him in, and I was chasing them around as well as Hurley so...here we go.  At least I got these three, right?

We had a lot of fun, though!  The kids loved playing outside and would have played out there longer, but Titus had to ruin the fun and get hungry.  I promised them we would play again soon!

Any mommas blow bubbles with their kids yesterday?

Challenge #1: Coloring

As you can see when you look at my 101 Things to Do with Your Toddler page, coloring is the first to be scratched off the list!  I turned the TV off, got some coloring books and crayons and we all colored pictures.

I really enjoyed spending time with my kids and coloring.  As you can see in the last picture, Zoe and Max decided to help me color my page.  Ha!  This was a learning moment for me --- I'm a perfectionist when it comes to coloring pages and making sure they look fabulous!  But I thanked them for the help and I really like how it turned out. =)

It was also fun to hear Zoe recognize her colors.  A couple times (as seen in the picture above) she would get stumped, but I would help her out and she remembered the next time I asked her!  Max repeats everything Zoe says so he was saying his colors too.  Cute little kids!

I had to leave them near the end to put finishing touches on dinner.  Next time I'll make sure crayons are put away, though, because I now have lovely black scribbles on my wall thanks to my son.  Go figure! =)  I can't help but laugh every time I see it --- but don't worry, I plan on scrubbing it up today!

I think the high for today is supposed to be close to 50 degrees so we will make sure to do the next thing on our list: blow bubbles!  The kids are going to freak out!  They love bubbles!  I think they get that from me. ;)  Did any other mommas get some coloring done?

Happy Wednesday!

100+ Toddler Challenge

Lately I have noticed that my babies spend more time watching Elmo than they do other activities.  Though I'm glad they're watching educational shows and learning, too much of a good thing...may not be a good thing.  We need to make sure to have more variety in this house!

Then I remembered my page above that is titled 101 Things to Do with Your Toddler.  I thought it would be fun to make sure to do at least one thing per day with my kids, take pictures, and then journal about it so I can remember our experiences when they're older.  This is going to be fun!

Some are really simple while others may take a little more imagination.  I'm really excited about this challenge!  When my kids grow up, I want them to remember me as a fun mom --- not one that just sat around watching TV with them.  I want them to learn more things from me than they do from a show!  That's what being a parent is all about.

So today we will do #1 and I will make sure to take pictures and let you know our experience!  It's coloring which is really simple so don't get too excited.  Haha!  But like I said, this is for me to remember the little things about motherhood that I don't want to forget!

So here we go!  Making memories one day at a time with the most beautiful babies I know. =)
